Rarely
are crawl spaces friendly environments for the people
living above them. They are havens for mold, bacteria,
odors, insects and rodents. Whether your crawl space
has a dirt floor or concrete, wet or dry, we have a
solution for you!
Preventing
Moisture Or Water In Your Crawl Space
Step 1. Check your gutter system.
Make sure it’s
not clogged; it needs to be the proper size for the
slope of the roof. Drain spouts should be directed
away from the house, and the grading should be sloped
on an angle away from the house.
Step 2. Crawl space vents
should be properly installed. If they are at or below
grade, rain or moisture on
the top of the ground can run right through those
vents, into your crawl space. In many instances
it is best to keep crawl space vents sealed year
round.
In the summer when people often open them, damp
air enters the crawl space and condenses on air conditioning
ducts and water pipes. It essentially “rains” in
the crawl space. It’s best to seal up those
and don’t open them in the summer or any
other time of the year.
Step 3. Check your crawl space access
doors. Doors at or near grade are vulnerable to rainwater.
Pooling
against them going under them into your crawl space.
Step
4. Fixing the problem from the inside. Waterproofing
the foundation from the inside using an interior
Strip drain system, connecting to a sump station
and covering the ground. This is how healthy environments
prevent moisture in crawl spaces for many homeowners.

The AquaLiner is designed to separate your home from
the earth below entirely and permanently. AquaLiner
is a thick, 20-mil material, similar to that used
in lined swimming pools. It actually consists of
several layers- high density polyethylene, low density
polyethylene, and two layers of polyester cord.
 |
A superior performing
system. AquaLiner is tough and puncture resistant.
You can crawl on it, service technicians
can crawl on it, and you can store any item
on it, transforming your former unusable
crawl space into a clean, dry, and ample
storage space for your home.
The AquaLiner completely resists moisture penetration and stops unwanted
insects and rodents.
The AquaLiner's bright white finish actually brightens the crawl space
with limited light, creating a friendlier storage environment.

Why Use AquaLiner in your Crawl Space?
 |
Exposed earth underneath
your home is a recipe for problems for not
only the integrity of your home, but your
health. Crawl spaces can become damp or even
flood, which can create rot and decay, which
could be the floor of your kitchen, bathroom
or your children's bedroom! This moisture
can breed a variety of living organisms from
Mould spores to centipedes, spiders, rats
and even snakes
 AquaLiner
serves as a blockaid invasive animals
like termites, beetles, rodents
and snakes.
 These
invasive animals can cause exposed
wood and other exposed materials
to rot and
decay, putting your home at risk.

Mould, Allergies, and Toxins!
 |
Mould and mildew causes
those damp and musty smells. These are fungi
that thrive in humid and moist conditions,
such as your crawl space. Keeping humidity
down lessens the chance of growing mould.
Normally, mould will not grow at less than
50% humidity. Dehumidifying is the key along
with fixing any groundwater, plumbing or
other leaks as part of the strategy to eliminate
mould or fungi in your crawlspace.
Humidity levels can range from 50%-90% in the crawlspace, which are
perfect conditions for mould to grow. AquaLiner will help to prevent
mould in and around your home leaving less allergens in the air.
